Trips to Spain

Our programme in Spain takes place in the beautiful city of Santander on the north coast of Spain in the region of Canabria.
Known as ‘Green Spain’ the city has the backdrop of the magnificent ‘Picos de Europa’ mountain range.
Santander is a charming, modern city with a rich cultural and historic heritage and seaside elegance. It is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. Once the favoured summer residence of King Alfonso XIII, in the 19th century the city was a renowned tourist resort for Spanish politicians, aristocrats and for the upper class. The city still keeps wonderful palaces and promenades, white buildings, old cafés and its famous casino.
You will be taught Spanish in small lively groups at just the right level for you. You will study the Spanish language with native Spanish speakers with lots of experience in helping adults to build their confidence in speaking Spanish. You will also access a teaching methodology programme so you can feel confident to inspire children at your school to enjoy learning Spanish. After you complete the course you will have access to a great range of materials to support you back in school.
Our cultural programme will give you a real insight into Spanish life, culture and history, with lots of opportunities to have fun using your Spanish and building your confidence.
You will stay in a fantastic sea front hotel in the beautiful Sardinero area of Santander, a 15 minute walk from the school. You will have your own en suite room with a sea view.
The hotel provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. We provide lunch which we eat together as a group in a variety of typical, authentic Spanish restaurants so that you get the opportunity to experience the cuisine of the region and we provide you with a daily allowance so that you can choose what you would like to do for dinner. (There is always the option to eat as a group in the evenings too). Santander is located between the sea and the mountains and has a mixture of both in its gastronomy. Typical dishes from the sea are “rabas” (fried squid), “bocartes rebozados” (whitebait), and fresh shellfish.
You will have the opportunity to spend time in a Spanish school in order to experience first-hand the Spanish school system and build lasting links with Spanish colleagues.
